Vascular surgery
My grandmother has diabetes and high BP. Today morning she noticed blood is coming out from skin  like it's flowing out of a thin pipe right above the foot from the left side. It was bleeding heavily but it stopped after sometime. The doctor told that it was due to tearing of a thin vein and she need to consult vascular surgeon. Since she stays in a remote area so we need few days time to consult doctor. Kindly tell me the effect of this problem and whether she needs an immediate check up. What is the remedy? Help.

Frequently diabetics are placed on blood thinners, which aggravates blood loss. Unknowingly any cut on the skin over a vein can cause bleeding also. Simple applying pressure over the bleeding site a couple of minutes stops the bleeding in majority of cases.
