No need to panic in this case.
1) drink adequate water , lemon water.
2) avoid alcohol intake, high protein diet, tomato, spinach
3) check for joint pains. If present then take febuxostat 40mg 1 tab once daily for at least 2weeks.
4) repeat test after 2 weeks.
5) brisk walk daily for at least 30 minutes.
Consult for more detailed treatment.
Do not worry . If your uric acid level is below 10 mg/dl and asymptomatic treatment is not indicated . I would advice to keep a follow up for your uric acid levels once every 6 months . Most importantly stay hydrated .
Yes, it is possible to reduce uric acid without long-term medication if there are no symptoms currently. Since your level is 8 mg/dL and you’re asymptomatic, lifestyle changes can help
✅ Diet Tips:
Avoid high purine foods: red meat, organ meats, seafood
Cut down on alcohol and sugary drinks
Drink 2.5–3 liters of water daily
Include low-fat dairy, cherries, and citrus fruits
✅ Weight & Activity
Maintain healthy body weight
Regular physical activity improves metabolism
✅ Short-Term Supplements
Vitamin C (500 mg/day)
Alkalizers (like potassium citrate)
Next Steps:
Repeat uric acid test after 4–6 weeks of lifestyle change
If uric acid stays >7 or symptoms develop (joint pain, swelling), consult for further evaluation
Avoid self-medication with allopurinol or febuxostat unless advised
Word of Caution:
Even asymptomatic hyperuricemia can lead to kidney stones or gout over time
Sudden drop in uric acid can trigger attacks in some cases—gradual reduction is safer
