I am so sorry that you have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at such a young age, but believe me, you are only one of many children of your age, who have got this condition. There is nothing wrong you have done that you have developed it. But again tit is very important that you don understand bout type 1 diabetes as , unfortunately, it will remain with you for the rest of your life. space being very limited here, I am unable to write everything about the condition , few things I would like to put forward to pt your apprehensions at rest . You have developed certain antibodies( cells that usually fight against foreign body such as infection , but for some reason, they start fighting against your own body cells) that destroyed insulin producing cells in pancreas. Hence there is not enough insulin( may go on produce no insulin in near future) in your body to regulate sugar levels. The raised sugar levels can cause problems to you if you don't control them properly, and this can only be done with insulin from outside in your case. There is no place for oral medications in type 1 diabetes so far. never miss insulin . seek immediate help if any time you develop symptoms such sicknes, diarrhoea, abdominal pain etc. please drop me a line if you need further information.
