Tuberculosis
My mom is taking TB medicines( R-CIN, INH , PZA). The doctor told us to give her medicines in the following way: Rifampin in morning, PZA in afternoon and Ethambutol at night. But I read somewhere that these medicines should be taken all at once. Is it true that these medicines should be taken all at once or it can be given in the above manner?

Hi. I understand your concern s. You are right all medicines to be taken at a time. All half an hour before food and pza is after breakfast an hour. Necessary to be taken together to attain equal drug level.

I completely agree with your doctor, medicine is tolerated well when given separately. Giving the medicine together may lead to vomiting. Also you have read it correctly, medicines can be given together that way one can ensure that the patient is taking the medicines. It is not an easy job to take all.meds together. Also you mentioned Rifampicin in morning, is it plane rifampicin or is it rcinex. Kindly check it ensure it is not plane rifampicin, just to be sure since you mentioned INH in the start I assume it is there in the prescription.
Next Steps
let your mom decide whether she wants it all together or all separate. just ensure adherence to treatment, dose has to go at 24 hr interval regularly.
