Treatment for psoriasis
Have inverse psoriasis from past 4 years at pubic area. Medium itching. Got nail psoriasis, new lesions on elbows and feet, ears, scalp psoriasis(only few spots) from last 8 months. I have taken oncotrex 2.5mg - 6 tablets in 2018. I have used hh salic, mf sudif creams(still using) I have taken tretin ISO tabs. It didnt respond for that. So, my doc said next option available is methotrexate. As this is a covid situation, as methotrexate will effect my immunity, I have second thoughts on using methotrexate. Treatment: What are the other effective oral medication other than methotrexate Need to know: If I should follow any food limitation ? Will walk/rest routines or hydrate/dehydrate routines help ? And my nail psoriasis is getting increased. How to control it ?

Hello dear. It's always a good idea to remain hydrated. Also, eat a protein rich diet. Both these things will help. Now coming to MTX. Yes, methotrexate can cause immunosuppression. But this effect is seen at high doses which cancer patients receive. For psoriasis, we use a very small dose on a weekly basis and that will not cause immunosuppression in a healthy young person such as you. There are alternative medicines, but then they also cause immunosuppression, which you don't want.
