Teeth whitening and Scaling are two different procedures. Scaling and polishing( oral prophylaxis) removes external deposits such as plaque, tartar and stains . Whitening is basically a bleaching process and removes intrinsic stains. Be clear when you discuss this with the Dentist that you choose.
