Hi... Severe pain after a root canal can and does occur mostly due to the treated tooth touching the opposite tooth. Your problem can be solved in a matter of 5mins if thats the trouble. You can revisit your dentist and see what he/she advises. But if pain still persists then the case is complicated and you better visit a root canal specialist(endodontist).
The pain might be because of missing extra root canal or guttapercha obturation impinging the underlying bone. Better contact ur dentist and get rid of the pain.
It can be due to over obturation of root canal, the gutta percha might have passed through the root apex and impugning the underlying bone.
It might be due to perforation or the doc might have missed a canal or accessory canal.
Can bw due to intrument breakage at root tip.
Next Steps
Go for an xray to confirm what exactly is the problem
Hello Mam,
You need to upload any post-op x-rays for us to check the accuracy of the RCT.
