Tooth implant
My front tooth got extracted completely in a road accident. No damage to adjacent tooth. I went to a dentist after 15 days and got an x-ray. Doctor said the adjacent tooth are weakened and bones in the extracted teeth has not yet developed completely. so, he asked me to give 10 weeks time before doing an implant. He said implant cost around 35k? Another method of bridging will cost me around 4k per tooth (total 12k for 3tooth) My query: 1.Is it necessary to give 10weeks gap? 2.which method should I prefer? 3.what would be app. Cost of treatment?(I found 35k to be too much) Thanks for everyone who is going to answer my query(As there is no way to thank after posting this query)

hello, the time gap given to you is required for the extraction site to heal and for bone formation. get an x-ray done to check for bone levels. implants are placed in the area of missing teeth. adjacent teeth are not touched. for bridge, the adjacent teeth have to be reduced in size for placement of crown. so its better to go for implants. cost for implant can range from rs.30,000-45,000/-.

Hi...the advice of waiting 10 weeks is beneficial to you as the site of trauma will heal sufficiently before any treatment is carried out. Bone takes that much time to heal. Apart from that, implants will be better than a bridge as it does not involve touching adjacent healthy teeth . Also the cost quoted by your dentist is reasonable. However in case your adjacent teeth have been damaged ,which can be ascertained with a pulp vitality , they will need root canal treatment and crowns. In such scenario a bridge will be advisable.

If after waiting for 10 weeks the condition seems to improve then you should go for implant only because in bridge the other teeth gets compromised as they might have to do there RCT if not then also cutting is done for fixing the bridge, whereas in implant the adjacent teeth are not touched they remain as it is.

Hello. Missing the front tooth is definitely a traumatic experience and immediate replacement should be the treatment option of choice. However depending on the option you choose and the status of the tissues, the treatment duration may change. A temporary restoration can be bonded immediately or you could use a removable option for a few days. Placement of implant would need a CBCT scan to evaluate the bone condition. For a bridge, a smaller x-ray (IOPA) should be sufficient. However at your age, i would still advise for an implant.

Hello Sir, Greetings for the day. The answers to your questions 1.Road Accident is a history of trauma. In this case with the tooth coming out there are chances for damage to the bone leading to bone resorption. So it is ideal to wait for 3 to 6 months to wait before the dentist- Implantologist places the implant. 2. You can get a CBCT scan from any dental scanning center nd visit an Implantologist for the opinion . 3. Cost of Implants nd bridges varies depending on quality and guarantee offered by the companies.
