Recently my tooth filling came off and there may have been decay under the filling on my premolar 4. Now when ever I eat I experience a sharp shooting pain, what should I do will I need a root canal or will just replacing the filling be adequate.

Just relax dear....filling might be dislodged of many reason may be buy human errors during restoration or might because of feeding habits of patient. i.e.because of sticky food. Visit your dentist as soon as possible because treatment would certainly depend upon clinical and radiographic findings. Do remember friends when ever a filling is dislogged or removed plz visit your dentist as soon as possible
