Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT. Burning sensation on the tongue—especially in the absence of visible lesions—is a relatively common issue in diabetics and may fall under a condition known as Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS) or glossodynia.
Next Steps
Oral cavity and tongue examination by ENT Continue B-complex, but consider adding Methylcobalamin if B12 is low. Use topical soothing agents like glycerin or benzydamine mouthwash before meals. Avoid irritants like spicy, acidic, and very hot foods. Maintain good oral hygiene.
