As per your symptoms it is likely to be due to an accidental cheek bite or wisdom tooth eruption . I would advise you to visit a dentist so that you can be examined and undergo investigations such as X-Ray to find the underlying cause and have it treated accordingly. You may require antibiotics and pain, the symptoms should subside in 2-3 days. These following steps may help:
- Do salt water gargle with lukewarm water thrice a day.
- Brush your teeth regularly, preferably twice a day.
- If you have habits of chewing betel leaves, tobacco, etc kindly stop
If the condition persists or worsens visit the dentist at the earliest

Hello,
The discomfort could be due to an erupting/infected wisdom tooth.Visit an oral surgeon to check whether it is in a favourable position to erupt,if not then removal is advised.
