Hello I'm experiencing swelling in my right hand fingers and pain when close the fist in the morning from 2-3 days. After 3-4 hours it goes away I am student and use my right hand only for several hours. This is happening first time in my life. What is the cause slight swelling persists throughout the day and mild pain when I close the fist very tightly.

Morning finger swelling with pain that improves after a few hours is most commonly due to overuse, tendon inflammation, or fluid retention in the small joints, especially since you use your right hand extensively for studies. Mild stiffness and pain on making a tight fist suggest early tenosynovitis or strain, not a serious joint disease. This can happen suddenly with repetitive hand use, poor wrist posture, or prolonged writing/mobile use. Resting the hand, avoiding prolonged gripping, and warm water soaks usually help. If swelling or morning stiffness lasts more than 1–2 weeks, increases, or involves multiple joints, a clinical evaluation and basic blood tests may be needed to rule out inflammatory causes.
