Surgery In The Backbone
A friend of my mine had a bone protrusion in her back which was operated in the month of February. The doctor has given her few exercises to do on a daily basis, avoid sitting at a place for too long and stay away from long distance travel. Although she is able to walk, do the normal chores and attend office but she is still unable to bend over and also lift heavy things. She has been doing the prescribed exercises daily and regularly consulting doctor. Is there any chance that she'll fully recover from this in near future? Also is there any likelihood of the symptoms recurring which would require another surgery?

Well surgeon has done his part and now the patient needs to consult a physiotherapist for the rest of the job. Surgery as well as physiotherapy is essential for 100% recovery. Take details of the procedure done and the Physiotherapist will advice therapeutic exercises based on evaluation. Usually 12 week programme helps, but in some cases patient may have to continue. Full recovery and unrestricted activities are possible with the Spine Rehabilitation programme.
Health Tips
During strenuous activities, spine braces are helpful. Consult with your Physiotherapist for the ideal one.
