My mother is suffering from cleaning OCD for last 3 year . OCD is controlled when they are taking (escitalopram and clonazepam) but when they stopped taking medicine OCD is start again.

Hi....OCD can be notorious if not treated properly...always stop medications only when your consulting doctor says so
Always make sure you complete the treatment course before you stop using medications....if medicines are taken on and off without proper guidance it can be very difficult to treat the symptoms

OCD is chronic illness that needs long term treatment and meds are to be continued till they are not planned to tapered down and stopped by your treating psychiatrist

Psychopharmacology ( drugs) are prescribed for the disorders but in addition to that, psychological interventions are also recommended for OCD.Also,the drugs are not to be stopped abruptly.
