You don't need antibiotics at this point, all you need is gargles with saline water.
Two things worth mentioning, don't take antibiotics recklessly, it should be taken only if essential.
Secondly, You can't take medicines prescribed to another person with similar condition, cause a drug is prescribed after evaluating various factors, so the same drug which was beneficial for other person, could be toxic to you.
Next Steps
Do gargles with lukewarm saline water

No … first of all antibiotics should not be used over the counter without prescription … and the dosage would be different for different age groups and also the type of cold and sore throat also varies weather it’s bacterial or viral and combination of drugs also varies for different kinds of conditions for the best resultss … and if the antibiotic course is not used properly then it can lead to resistance of the organism for that antibiotic such that the antibiotic doesn’t work for you the next time

No, you should not start an antibiotics course yourself. The symptoms you describe, like a sore throat with mild fever that went away without medicine, are common and may not require antibiotics. It's best to see a doctor, who can examine you and determine if antibiotics are necessary. Taking antibiotics without a doctor's recommendation can be harmful. It's important to get a proper medical evaluation before starting any new medication.
