Skin problem
Hi, I have noticed two small, flesh-colored "blobs" or skin tags on the back of my neck. They are painless and have been there for some time, but they occasionally get irritated by my shirt collar or a gold chain I wear. I would like to know: What are these growths likely to be (e.g., skin tags, moles)? What are the safest clinical options for removing them (cryotherapy, cauterization, etc.)? Is there any specific preparation needed before a removal procedure? Are there any underlying health checks (like blood sugar) I should consider if I am prone to these? I have attached a photo for your reference. Thank you! I am ready to visit the clinic if it is in pune near Hinjewadi.baner or mahalunge. I want painless removal only if possible

Based on your description and the photo, these growths most likely appear to be skin tags (acrochordons). They are benign, soft, flesh-colored growths that commonly occur in areas of friction such as the neck, especially where collars or chains rub against the skin. They are harmless but can become irritated due to repeated friction. Next steps • If you wish to remove them, the safest clinical options include: • Radiofrequency or electrocautery removal (very quick and commonly used) • Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen) • Snip excision under local anesthesia • These procedures are quick (usually a few minutes) and generally almost painless, as a small amount of local anesthetic is applied. • No major preparation is usually required before removal. Just keep the area clean and avoid applying creams or oils on the day of the procedure. Helpful Tips / Word of Caution: • Do not try to cut or tie them off at home, as it can cause infection or bleeding. • If you develop multiple skin tags, it can sometimes be associated with insulin resistance or higher blood sugar levels, so a routine blood sugar check may be helpful. • Avoid tight collars or chains that may continue to irritate the area. If you would like, you may also take an online consultation with me, where I can guide you further and discuss safe removal options.
