Skin colour is largely determined by genetics, and in children, it can take time to stabilise. Since one grandparent has a darker tone, this is likely inherited. No safe treatment can permanently lighten natural skin tone in children. Focus on sun protection, gentle skincare, and a healthy diet. Unnecessary creams may harm sensitive skin.

Skin color is genetically determined and largely remains the same , but there may be some minor factors causing increased melanin production in children’s skin. These factors need evaluation which can be done by consultation.
