Sideeffects Junior Lanzol
Hello.. my baby is around 3 months old and weighs around 5.87 kg. While breastfeeding, he gets very fussy, stretches himself and kind of refuses to feed. His eyes also go squinted. I found out over the net that these symptoms point towards acid reflux in babies. I just consulted his paediatric neurologist if it could be acid reflux.she said that acid reflux is generally found in premature babies. So it's not probable in my baby's case as he is a full term baby. But she asked me to give 1/ 3 tablet of Junior Lanzol 15mg to my son in the morning dissolved in expressed milk for 15 days. She said if there's any improvement, then after 15 days they'll guide me for faulty feeding. Now my area of concern is whether it's appropriate to give this medicine to my son. What if there's no acid reflux and there is some other problem. is this medicine harmful if given uselessly. And even if given purposefully, does it have any side effects. what's the dosage to be given for 5.8kg baby and how to give.

If the gastro esophageal reflux is present the baby may have multiple vomitings or spit outs and poor weight gain. If any of symptoms are there first you can try positioning the baby in 30 to 45 degrees to horizontal bed at the waist. Do proper burping after feeds. If still problems persist you can go for medications. The dosage given is correct only and usually there won't be any side effects. If you want to avoid medication you can try the positioning first. Discuss with your pediatrician and follow their advise.
