Side effects of COVID vaccine
I had taken the 1st dose of covishield on 2nd June '21. All my other relatives and Friends experienced some sort of side effects like fever, chills, head ache, weakness, but I have experienced none. I wanted to know if having no symptoms after vaccine means having a good immunity or that the vaccine is not effective? Also do antibodies develop after 1st dose if so in how many weeks and how long do they last?

Hello sir. Getting side effects is not a reliable indicator that if a vaccine is working or not. Covid Vaccine works on Active Immunisation principle hence on first dose, the response is less but subsequent doses yeild more antibodies. To know your antibody titre, wait for few weeks AFTER 2nd dose then get antibody titre testing. Hope this helps Regards Dr. Kshitij Singh
Next Steps
Antibody titre after few weeks of second dose.

It is not important to have side effects after vaccination. It varies from person to person. Antibodies don’t usually develop after 1st dose, better to wait for 2nd dose and then check for antibodies.
