Should I repeat nipt
My wife was 17 week pregnant. We had done our nipt as the double marker showed high risk of 1 in 62. The nipt came out to be low risk. When i went for second opinion. The doctor is saying that the lab from where the nipt is done is not known to her and she is suggesting for amnio centesis. The lab where the nipt is done is likhitha diagnostics which is linked to the first hospital where the nipt is suggested and it has icmr and iso accreditation. Please suggest if I need to repeat the nipt as we are not willing to go for amnio centesis as the miscarriage risk is high. Please reply as we are in real stress and not knowing what to do next

There is no need for a repeat NIPT or amniocentesis. Every test has false positive and false negative results.

If it's a accredited lab no need to repeat. But still NIPT is not confirmatory. It has more than 99% accuracy but not 100%
