Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
Only a single parameter SGPT being raised isn't indicative of anything in particular.
Why have you not attached the whole report of LIVER function test along with this question?
We need to see all parameters and co relate.
Kindly consult a general physician in person for further evaluation and management.
Best regards.
Dr. Anil kumar jain.
Bangalore.
dear friend
a single parameter out of range does not necessarily mean a serious or any problem at all. please keep your father on high carb diet for some time and if he takes alcohol stop it for some time and repeat the liver function test you may find it has come back to normal. also please let us know if ther are any other associated illnesses and if he is taking any medicines thay too have an effect on the liver enzymes and then the line of treatment will change
SGPT is 125 doesn't mean liver is damaged.it only gives indication that u should checkLiver by doing Liver function test(LFT).
Few other factors to look for-
Is yr father alcoholic ?
Is yr father having high cholesterol ?
Is yr father taking medication ?
Nothing to worry.Consult General Physician.
