The semen contains sperms which are essential for pregnancy. while at sex every time sperms are released in the vagina, the lady doesnt ovulate at each sex. Ovulation happens on some days, only once a month, and there is NO sign to know when it happens. If one is planning pregnancy it would be prudent to dos ex on th fertile days. If one has to give live fish to another person, then he has to give it with water,a s fish die outside. similarly, the sperms of the male can go to the female only if accompanied by the nourishing fluid from accessory glands, all of this make up the semen. The semen is in semisolid form when it comes out of the body and after being deposited in the vagina, it liquefies and then the sperms there in can swim and enter the mouth of the uterus in the vagina. The deposited semen remains there, ONLY if the lady partner remains in bed and does not move or sleep on her sides. But Vagina is NOT a cavity like a mouth, but it is a potential space which opens up as penis enters it ans closes back when the penis exits after ejaculation, so some semen may get spilled out as the vagina closes. Inside the vagins there is the mouth of the uterus named the cervix. This cervix has a central hole which opens up ONLY during ovulation, and the hole is covered with secretions. During ovulation time the secretions get thin and the sperms can get entry into the uterus, but this secretion remains thick at other times and the sperms cant go into the uterus.

This is often a problem. Please tell him that after intercourse, soMe semen will invariably come out and it's normal. But for some men it may be due to premature ejaculation- that needs proper treatment.
