Intercourse during periods is safe from point of view of pregnancy however as the books is pushed back into the body it can lead to endometriosis in some women.
during menstrual cycle 14 days are safe in 28 day cycle, 7 days before and 7 days after the periods counting from first day of cycle. But sex should be avoided during the menstrual cycle as this leads to retrograde blood flow from uterine cavity to pelvis through Fallopian tube leading to Endometriosis.
