Dear Madam, I can understand your concern. Partial thickness tears are often quite painful. A trial of conservative management I warranted . However if that fails an arthroscopic rotator cuff repair is recommended. A detailed clinical examination by an Orthopaedic Shoulder specialist is recommended. https://youtu.be/4apkayp1gry Kindly watch this video. It will help you understand your rotator cuff tears better

Gentle Shoulder Stretching. Core Strengthening Exercises. Gentle Neck Exercises. Avoid sleeping on affected side. Warm up and cool down is a must. Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment shoulder is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the shoulder with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

Such tears in the Supraspinatus tendon usually heal well with meds and physio. At the same time, he needs to avoid over head activities with the affected arm. If pain is not relieved with meds, he may benefit from a steroid shot into the sub acromial region.
