Severe back ache
A friend of mine has been having a severe back pain for almost an year and half now. When he had initially consulted the doctor he was told he has vitamin d deficiency.he took tablets for the same for about a month. Pain reduced but didn't stop completely. Recently he did an MRI as well..No issues were seen. He went through one week physiotherapy, pain reduced for a while and became the usual pain later. He goes through  bad pain everyday during driving, while trying to sleep, while waking up..Pain starts from his lower back and go down till his legs.he is working in a MNC and has night shifts Which seem to be aggravating the issue. Kindly suggest.

Hi, Seems like your friend is have early degenerative disc disease whichs uaually starts frim the 4 th decade of life.Having said that if the pain is goin down the legs too he needs to be consulted by a spine expert. Basic physiotherapy over a long term will help him. The degenerative process is physiological and cannot be reversed but strength the spinal musculature will help reduce the pain in long run by decreasing the ongoin wear and tear in spinal joints. Medicines are only for acute exarcerbations. No need to worry. Good luck.
