Query regarding medicines
Hello Doctor,
My mother is having diabetes since 5 years . She is going to the same doctor for check up since then but now the doctor changed and he also changed the medicines .
Earlier she used to take - metformin 2000mg, pregabalin, mecobalmine (she has leg pains ),gilmepride and ramipril
Now prescribed ones -
Metformin 2000mg, atrovstatin, pioglitazone 30mg , natrilix and ramipril
My mother's HbA1c is 6.5 .
I got to know that pioglitazone is a banned drug . But the doctor says to continue . Plz suggest if she can avoid it or should she continue?
Thanks and regards,
Preeti
