Before 1 month i take my mother to hospital for throat pain that time her bp was 160/90 next week also same bp so doctor prescribed amlodipine 2. 5mg... Past 1 month my mother is taking amlodipine 2.5mg day by day she feel very tried, body pain, cheat pain, left hand pain, back pain..we took ecg doctor.. Doctor said ecg is normal.. Before taking amlodipine she is completely fine.. Can i stop amlodipine.. Now her bp is 106/70

Hi, Is 5 mg amlodipine is safe to use for high bp during 27th week of pregnancy? My bp is high and not under control.

Why do doctors prescribe amlodipine when they can prescribe cilnidipine? Is it because amlodipine is cheaper and patients can afford it easily (the assumption here being both of them have little side effects).

Hello doctors, Im having high blood pressure problem from last one year. Earlier I was prescribed amlodipine 2.5 then a month back I was given telmisartan 20mg by another doc. But after taking telmisartan I noticed a mild headache which runs through the head which is irritating. Amlodipine never gave me any side effects though. Stopped taking amlodipine as besilate 10 mg .Been on a trail per-scriptin for 33 days and when I went to my appointment My Medicare card was out of date so had to re-scheduled another appointment but i've ran out of medication. I am suffering from severe swelling of ankles and legs and eyelids and face since i started taking amlodipine 5 mg with telmikind 80 mg . My doctor adviced certain tests as he wants to check kidney functions to rule out kidney failure. Serum creatinine, Blood urea , Serum uric acid, Hb all came normal . He told that my kidneys are normal as the above tests indicates how well kidney functions. I have a doubt that DO i need other Kidney test also or these tests are sufficient to check kidneys.
