There are various options for antipsychotic medications these days, oral and depot injectables. Cost will range from a few hundred to thousands in some cases. These are chosen on case by case basis, taking into factor the efficacy and side effect profiles. Side effects are usually extrapyramidal symptoms like dry mouth, fine tremors of hands and legs, slowness in activity etc. However with some of the newer depot injections these occur rarely and even if they do there are adequate measures to control them.
