I am planning to have denture for my mother. Looking at x ray, dentist recommended to have 4 teeth extractions, and to clear gum infections before denture procedure. Basically she has gone through invasive cleaning and has to go through Scaling and root planning in coming weeks. Is this really required before denture and How much would it cost.

Profession cleaning is anyways required for better life of your teeth. Denture take support from remaining teeth. So its better to get the cleaning done before further damage to those supporting teeth occurs.

If u leaving the tooth not extracting, go ahead with the procedure... If it's suggestive of extraction Plz get it extracted without such treatment and get on with the dentures..
Would def recommend scaling and extractions of any small root pieces or if any teeth left behind..
But root planning need to c the X-rays first to comment on the same.
Also pricing varies ..
We have clinic in matunga and worli if u need any second opinion about the same.

Scaling is usually a routine, root planning helps if there are deep seated deposits. On a long-term this will help in giving good stability for her dentures.
Next Steps
flexible dentures are an option to be considered.
Health Tips
Always plan on a long-term options given and the cost would be secondary.
For making good retentive and we'll stable denture it is sometime required to have certain number of extraction because it helps in making proper impression and stable denture. There is no sense in keeping carious, mobile and infectious teeth in mouth because they are of no use in chewing food, so it's better to get them extracted. It's better you visit my website vivantaclinics. Come to get answer for such question. Already old age patient's are little reluctant for long treatment and multiple visit so better to get proper treatment done rather than saving such teeth. It's better get denture fabricate by prosthodontist only
Scaling and gum treatment will help the remaining natural teeth to survive. Poor mobile teeth cannot be saved by any gum treatment so the best alternative is remove those highly mobile teeth and go for new artificial teeth.
Hi
What you will be probably going for are over dentures. That is the support of teeth which are present in mouth is taken to stabilise the dentures.
In that way the teeth (pillars which will support the dentures) need to be strong. Good strength of the teeth will Come if they are clean and well adapted to gum and bone and hence cleaning and root planning is advised in such cases.
Costing depends upon number of teeth.
