I'm 21 years old and my right sacroiliac Joint has been causing a lot of pain while sitting and walking and bending. The pain has also been spreading to my groins and swelling in my lower abdomen. I also feel gaseous pressure alongside this and I thought this was a result of gas buildup. Is this serious enough to visit a doctor or can I do some exercises and take some medicines to combat this?

Hi. Sacroiliac pain can occur due to certain repetitive activities or in case there is degeneration (damage due to friction over time) . However at your age and in a man sacroiliac pain is likely to be due to apondyloarthritis. This is a serious problem which can lead to permanent damage if not diagnosed early and treated appropriately. You can have more information on apondyloarthritis from the webpage below.

Next Steps
please meet a rheumatologist at the earliest to assess whether your sacroiliac pain is due to sacroilitis/spondyloarthritis
