A combined tear of ACL and MCL is significant injury. MCL is likely to heal by rest, for which a knee brace for a few weeks is sufficient. After that, arthroscopy surgery is likely to be needed for acl tear. Ligament surgery for knee is done by minimally invasive techniques using arthroscopy, and is a fairly common surgery being done nowadays, with good results.
