I recently got RCT done by a dentist who is an MDS. But I heard a lot of people telling me to get RCT done by an Endodontist, I'm confused. What's the difference

Hi,
you got RCT done by an MDS, which is perfectly fine. there are different specialities that comes under MDS. Like some are MDS in periodontics (they deal with gums and surgeries), some are MDS in Orthodontics (deal with Braces). similarly Endodontists are also MDS who has got specialisation in dealing with RCT. I hope your confusion will be clear now. REGARDS - Dr. Ankit R. Upadhyaya, URBAN SMILES, GALLERIA MARKET, GURGAON
hello,
MDS is a post-graduation degree after BDS. It can be done in many subjects, one of which is known as "Endodontics". So an Endodontist is an MDS.
Mds is a post graduation degree.mds can be done in various subjects.one of them is endodontics( specialisation in root canal treatment)... N those who completes this course is called as Endodontist.
An Endodontist is a specialist in Root canals and fillings. So it is recommended that you get it done by him, He too is an MDS but specifically in Endodontics. As I am an Orthodontist and hold an MDS degree in Orthodontics (treatment with braces).
