Advised root canal after doing xray due to cavity and pain 16 months ago ,after that no pain since now, is it possible that root canal not required as there is no pain? Is it possible that infection to the root has been cured?pl advise

Don't do any guess works with your health. Go for check up and x rays ( iopa) and go for the treatment adviced. If rct was adviced because of cavity then there will be bigger cavity now pulp of tooth is degenerated so no pain ! But what about lost tooth structure. It will slowly break down and ultimately extraction will be required you may not get the chance to save the tooth. Regards
