Hello, position and extent of calcified root determine its outcome. In most of the case it can be treated with patience and dedication both from the doctor as well as patient because it take lots of time and energy.

Better to go for RCT with best efforts and be patience for few sittings as suggested by dentist. Keep extraction as the last option.

It all depends on where/what part/position the canal is calcified .It would determine the long term prognosis of the tooth.Consult an Endodontist before you take any decision.
