Schizophrenia itself is a type of psychosis. We call it as schizophrenia, when psychotic & behavioural symptoms last for at least a month (as per ICD diagnostic criteria).

Psychosis is a broad concept. Schizophrenia is a type of psychosis. All schizophrenia is psychosis...but all psychosis is not schizophrenia

Dear mam, Psychosis is a disorder of thinking characterised by delusions (firm and fixed false thoughts), hallucinations (perceptions of sound/vision/sensation without a stimulus) and disorganised behavior (poor hygiene habits, odd dressing etc.) Schizophrenia is a type of psychosis, one of the severest variety and has its own criteria for diagnosis. Pls feel free to ask the next question and I shall be glad to answer them.

Schozophrenia is a type of psychosis. Not all psychotics are schizophrenics but all schizophrenics are psychotic
