Post RCT pain
I have done RCT in my wisdom teeth,the reason being it was not erupted completely and the removal would have been an surgery which I wanted to avoid. Now after the RCT is done,I have sensation,kind of pain in the teeth,whenever I drink water or rinse mouth. My doctor has asked me to rinse with Luke warm saline water to alleviate the pain. Is it a normal complication or do I need to visit another dentist for further checkup?

hello,
you can do warm salt water rinses as a home remedy, but this will give only temporary relief from pain.visit a dentist and get an X-ray done. if required get it removed.

Pain in the root canal treated tooth is normal in the inetial days of the treatment when the tooth is tender because of the cleaning of root canal system & instrumentation during rct. An iopa x ray would be really helpful to evaluate the problem

Hi, this may be due to instrumentation, warm saline water mouth rinse twice/thrice daily along with some mild painkiller may relieve the problem.
