Try to intake salty foods or you chew harad simply if it is just a start up of problem. If it is from long time than you can consult personaly for treatment.
Steam inhalation is best for post nasal discharge, however the Child is too young to be made sit for steam inhalation. So it is advised to give him a massage with ghee and saindha namak warmed around nose and throat where lymph are found. And once or twice in a day you can put badam roghan oil in both the nostrils just one drop each in kapha kaal ie 6-8 am

U have take vapour inhalation with Vicks vapourub/ amrutanjan/ iodex everyday twice for threedays,till all mucus comes out .
Apply Vicks around ur nostrils throat,chest while sleeping.
Drink a glass of hot milk with 1/4 tsf turmeric boiled,a drop of ghee and sugar to taste. in empty stomach twice a day for three/ five days.
Sip hot water.now and then.
