Do you have constipation? If so plenty of fibre and fluids can help. Treating constipation is necessary. For pain Warm Bath : Sit in about 3 inches of warm (not hot) water for 15 minutes or so, several times a day. This helps reduce swelling in the area and relaxes the sphincter. You can add witch Hazel extract to water . It’s a natural anti-inflammatory that can work against swelling and itching. Cold Compress. Try putting a simple cold pack on the tender area for a few minutes to numb it and bring down the swelling. You can also use petroleum jelly to lubricate the area. For acute pain relief you can use creams containing mild steroid, 1 percent hydrocortisone with local anesthetic, Lidocaine, which reduce swelling and numb the pain
