PCV Vaccine
Hi Dr,can you suggest me whether I will give PCV vaccine to my 1.5 months baby girl, because it's really very costly.

PCV vaccine is OPTIONAL vaccine for individual child. If you wish to protect your child against pneumococcal pneumonia (common severe pneumonia) You may opt for it. Its a Essential vaccine in developed country. Disease can occur in any baby, its your choice how much risk you want yo take. Govt is also in process of starting PCV in govt schedule, but it will take years to come in force.

After 1 year your baby requires 2 doses of PCV. You can give SYNFLORIX brand which is 1500Rs. if you have financial problem. The costly one is PREVENAR 13 which is 3800 Rs.
