PCOS, concieving problems
I have been married for 3 years and have been trying for a baby for the past 5 months. I have had a history of PCOS and my recent sonography did show follicles on ovaries. My thyroid is perfectly normal. I had recently lost 10 kgs through diet and exercise. Also i have been taking metformin as advised by the doctor. But my weight seems to have hit a plateau and i am not able to reduce further.

Hello, 3 years is a long time. You should visit a gynecologist and seek proper treatment of PCOS. Once your PCOS is cured, you can try conceiving naturally. If you are still not able to conceive then visit an infertility specialist and get basic fertility investigations done to rule out the cause.

Do you mean to say that your sonography is still showing PCOS? It is good that you have lost weight but it is equally important to know what was your original weight. If you have lost about 10% of your original weight; it is optimal and you need not lose any more weight.
Next Steps
Are your cycles regular? If your cycles are regular; there is a high chànce of you conceiving naturally. Equally important for you to know that PCOS pts who have irregular cycles also may occasionally ovulate after losing weight. If you do not conceive spontaneously; consult a fertility specialist who may put you on Ovulation medication which has a high chance of success rate.

It's good that you have reduced the weight..u should continue it. See ovarian volume on sonography and prolactin levels also. U might need drugs for ovulation induction and follicular monitoring.
