Hello, The description is not very clear,probably the area you are mentioning is just below the ear lobe, which is lymph nodes related to tonsils. These nodes usually enlarge when there is infection in the upper airway. However, they cause pain in the ear due to the nerves. These usually do not require any medications to reduce the swelling, simple analgesics are sufficient. Clearing the primary infection is the solution.
