Pain in the lower legs
I have a constant pain in my lower legs/calves. Some days it's alright and the other days they ache. Lately, I have not been active at all and have not been working out. Until 2.5 months ago I was regular in my brisk walk and or jogging. But due to winters I stopped all workout. As a result I have also gained weight (not a lot but visible). A year and half ago I found out that I am deficient in vitamin B12, D3 calcium etc... I started on the supplements and was feeling better. But it's been several months I've stopped taking those too. I feel my leg ache is due to deficiency and also due to no physical activity in daily routine. However, I would like to know what vitamins should I take and what dosage? I have thyroid issue but the TSH levels are in control and I am very compliant with my medication too. Please rule out VTE, PAD etc because I don't see those symptoms. Kindly help!

Hello there,,,,well most of your question regarding your calf pain has been answered by you in the question you asked...it is very much a possibility that calf pain arises (70% of cases) due to loss of minerals, nutrients and formation of oxidants in the body....when you consume it through food or suppliment the body overcomes this depletion and you fell fine again....in my opinion rather than putting stress more on exercising and suppliments ...take a look at food what you are eating everyday and does that food has all the ingridients to have a healthy balanced nourishment. If in certain cases where religion/tradition doesnt permit eating a particular food then appropriate alternative supplimentation can be consumed.
Next Steps
You need to undergo blood test for CBC sr calcium sr uric acid Vit B12 to see weather it is due to lack of these factors
Health Tips
regarding the last part of your question,,,to rule out PAD or VTE....you can visit a vascular surgeon to know the status better...a simple Ankle-brachial index and doppler ultrasonogrphy can give information regarding it. hope that answers your query Regards & take care.
