Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Greetings, sorry about your pain. Your description is very vague, assuming your question I will consider it in 3 aspects. A.  Pain only B.  Pain with swelling C. Pain with swelling and warmth. A.  Only pain, if so then get trigger point release from a near by physio.  Ice will help twice a day.  Pain will settle in first session to 50%, B.  Pain with swelling - ice and massage, rest will help.  Trigger point release also helps. C. Pain with swelling and warmth - ice and massage, rest will help.  Trigger point release also helps.
Next Steps
Do the above said for a week with assistance from a physio,  pain should settle.   Also your physio should start stretching in case you have only pain as the problem.
Health Tips
if you find poor results or 50/50 results. then think about taking blood tests.  Remember a very good diet should help overcome all health issues.   if still finding issues or do not know how to proceed, feel free to contact me.
