Pain gum after filling
I have done a dental filling a week back. But I still feel pain in the gum area below the teeth. Shall rinsing with betadine help? Or shall I use normal warm water with salt? Your suggestion will be helpful as I am out of town in a place where there are no doctors nearby.

May be due to over filling. Do warm saline rinses. Don’t press your teeth too hard

Hi pain in your gums even after one week of the filling is something that needs evaluation. Ideally if there are high points you will have pain and discomfort on chewing. Maybe there is excess filling material impinging on the gums thus causing pressure, pain and discomfort. Also an xray needs to be taken to see if the filling is very deep, which also cause dull aching pain.
Next Steps
Kindly use a water floss as it will effectively remove any food debris or overhanging filling material. Warm saline rinses are good for overall maintenance of oral hygiene. Even after all this if pain persists kindly visit your dentist.

Cause of the pain in your gums can't merely be ruled out based on the description given above. Pain could be due to : High points , which means uneven surface Overhanging of the filling impinging the gums Fracture of the tooth at the gum level . Since , you are in an area where no nearby dentist is available , you can do the warm saline rinses as it may relax your gums for the time being.
Next Steps
Visit a dentist as soon as possible and get a correct diagnosis done.
