I suffer from pain in my upper back, on the left side... it's closer to the shoulder blade.
This pain comes on after walking or standing for about 15 minutes.
The pain first came on two years ago
. It started to become more common, and eventually became a daily struggle.

It seems like a isolated muscular pain. It could be coming from rhomboidus or lower trapezius.. Physios who are expert in myofascial trigger point release can resolve it.. Dry needing could help.
Hi there, description of your symptoms suggests anything between spasms or cervical radiculopathy. Have you had any history of neck problem? If yes then it could be a dermatomal pain due to compression of nerve a neck... consult a physiotherapist for a detailed evaluation and precise diagnosis...

Pain in shoulder blades on one side, could be because of trapizius muscle spasm. Gradual increase in pain intensity and frequency is suggestive of wrong ergonomic of your daily activity which are adding more stress to your affected muscle. You need to see a physical therapist meanwhile you can use ice application on affected area, followed by that shoulder retraction exercises.
