I am a 50 yr old female had amenorrhea for the past 1 and half yr. Recently visited the doctor due to heavy bleeding since 5 days.performed ct and ultrasound which showed 7.4*6.4cm simple ovarian cyst on my left ovary with bulky uterus.doctor suggested for a biopsy and surgery.what is the treatment plan and details of the surgery

Hello..... Biopsy is required to know the type of cyts ..before resecting any swelling biopsy is done routinely... If your cyst is small and results from an imaging test rule out cancer, your doctor can perform a laparoscopy to surgically remove the cyst. you have a large cyst, your doctor can surgically remove the cyst through a large incision in your abdomen.
