Cause could be simple obesity where general advice would be balanced diet excluding junk and increase child's outdoor activity more than an hour daily. And avoid prolonged sitting infront of Tv por  phone or laptop. Not more than 30 min a day.as this makes child inactive and dull and they resort to mindless eating. But sometimes we have endocrine causes of obesity like hypothyroidism . Cushing  or some syndromic reason. Also family history of diabetes and obesity also increase chances of chilhood obesity .so consult a gud general or paediatric endocrinologist in ur vicnity
