Neurocysticercosis
Sir I am an intern at malda medical college, WB, India. my aunt was suffering from calcified granuloma in brain since 10 yrs back and since then she is continuously taking Carbamazepine 500 mg with amitriptyline 10mg with folvite tablets. now a recent mri besi shows a neurocysticercosis (granuloma?) in a quiescent stage. but the carbamazepine has started some allergic symptoms like Stevens Johnson's syndrome. what to do sir? plz guide.

Unusual to have reaction from carbamazepine after 10 years! Is HLA B1502 test done? If the skin reaction is definitely because of CBZ, then her neurologist should change the AED to some alternative
