Nasal congestion of 11 days old newborn
My newborn is 11 days old. Since yesterday he has nasal congestion and is breathing from his mouth. I have applied 2 drops in each nostril of Nasoclear nasal drop yesterday night and today morning but it does not seem to work so much. He is also waking up every one hour or so due to this discomfort. Please suggest what else should be done.

nasal blockage can be relieved by using nasal saline drops like nasoclear saline drops in the nose followed by nasal aspirator to take out the secretions very gently steam inhalation can also be helpful in this condition . Do not put the child directly under the fan

Nasoclear nasal spray can be used every 2 hourly also. Not necessary nasal blockage can be some other issue too. If anyone having viral in family, follow hand washing, wear mask and social distancing

It will be better to take a consultation. Is he feeding well? What room temperature are you maintaining? Is he passing urine normally? We need more information from your end in order to help you better.
