Nail problem
Hello. My mother's nails are not normal. From few past months her nails has changed. We consulted a doc he said it's because of soap. Can you please suggest what is this problem & what test to be done to diagnose it. I have attached pics of her nails

Thanks for the query. This could be a fungal infection of the nails. It can be easily diagnosed by a simple laboratory test wherein microscopic examination of the nail clipping is done after a chemical digestion. The treatment includes oral antifungals which will have to be taken for atleast 12 weeks.
